This project began as an extensive restructuring of information architecture and site-mapping for Apollo - a prominent financial corporation specializing in private equity. It ultimately evolved into a complete redesign of both Apollo.com and Apollo Intranet, their internal employee website. The project was driven by the need for a professional and modern rebrand that aligns with Apollo's mission and identity.
As the initial UX Designer, I spearheaded the development of the sitemap by first examining pages at a high-level and then conducting a micro-level breakdown of content within each page. This approach allowed us to eliminate redundancies, identify page patterns, and address hierarchy issues later in the design phase.
Collaborating with creative and art directors, we developed wireframes and created new brand guidelines that met WCAG standards, introducing fresh color schemes, iconography, and an overall brand refresh. The primary objective was to create a design that caters to a diverse audience, including retirees, potential employees, and investors, with a focus on a logical and simple navigation.
In addition to the external website, we extended our efforts to enhance the employee's internal website, Apollo Intranet, with the guidance of Senior UX Designer, Riley Schoonover. This process mirrored our approach for the external site, beginning with site-mapping and information architecture restructuring. We also maintained consistency with Apollo.com's brand guidelines, all while prioritizing accessibility.
